Peony bouquets while the season lasts

Peonies have one of the shortest seasons of any flower we use, usually late spring into early summer. When they are here, they are the bouquet everyone wants. When they are not, we will tell you honestly and suggest something close.

Timing the bloom

Peonies arrive as tight buds and open over a few days. Warm water speeds them up and a cool room slows them down, which is handy if you want them at their fullest for a specific day.

Out of season?

Garden roses and ranunculus have a similar soft, layered look. Send a custom request and a florist will suggest what is best that week and quote it in chat.

Questions we get asked

When are peonies in season in New York?

Usually late spring into early summer. Availability depends on growers each year, so ask in a custom request if you need them for a date.

Why are my peonies not opening?

Give them a fresh trim and lukewarm water, and keep them somewhere warm. Most open within a few days.
